Sector Coupling
The growing share of volatile renewable energy requires greater flexibility in demand. Energy systems are needed that advance efficiency in the use of heat, electricity, transport and industrial processes through integration. Such smart integrated systems must react immediately to fluctuations in supply and at the same time contribute to grid stability. In addition, surplus electricity that cannot be used elsewhere can also be utilised to generate fuels, especially in Power to X.

The challenge to be mastered lies in the definition of system boundaries, the availability of real-time data and secure demand forecasts, and the control and optimisation of internal and external interfaces. Only in this way can process-optimised, automatically controlled systems achieve the efficiency gains that make these innovations economically viable.
Activities
In these projects, we focus on the analysis of the industry's requirements and matching technical solutions. For this purpose, we combine and structure the necessary technical and commercial competences. Energy carriers like hydrogen and its derivatives can be produced domestically or imported from areas with abundant renewable energy resources. The answer is a combination of both and we develop assessments for the regional and local potentials of such.  



TEAMS
We bring in-depth experience from projects cross-cutting all four of our service sectors, in terms of materials and energy flows as well as their combination. The resulting knowledge in identifying existing potentials allows us an initial conceptualisation with subsequent match-making of the corresponding market players.
PROCESS
We agree on goals, KPIs and find ways to produce tangible results in a structured process. By providing the appropriate tools, we facilitate the management of complexity instead of trying to reduce it.
